Orthodontic Price Guide

At hartley we offer aesthetic and discreet braces for our patients. We try to provide the best advice as to which system will get the best results for each individual, however we also accept that the patient can express a preference about the braces they might like to wear.

We tend to offer fixed braces as they get the best results with shorter treatment times. Lingual braces are the only truly invisible braces.

Lingual braces

These are metal braces that are attached to the inside/back of your teeth and are therefore invisible to others.  They do rub the tongue for the first few days and also result in a lisp but this usually goes away after a week or so.

Ice braces

These are tooth coloured braces that are attached to the front of your teeth.  When combined with a tooth coloured wire they are very discrete.

However, they can take a little longer due to friction between the brackets and wires compared to metal braces.

Damon braces

These are half metal and half tooth coloured and fit to the front of the teeth.  They are however mechanically superior and result in faster tooth movement due to lack of friction.  They are noticeable to others. There is a clear option for the top teeth.

Stainless Steel.  These all metal brackets attach to the front of the teeth and are the standard brace which you often see children wearing.
